Regional and Specialist Groups

Group Rules

BPUG® is keen to encourage members to support each other through forums, workshops and other means. Members may, from time to time, wish to set up regional or topical groups and BPUG's aim is to encourage and support such groups where they are related to BPUG's objectives.

If such a group wishes BPUG® to endorse its activities, the group is asked to follow a few simple guidelines, as follows:

  1. The group must not assert that it represents BPUG® unless this has first been authorised by BPUG®.
  2. A group's membership criteria must be defined and declared to BPUG® and the criteria must comply with legal requirements such as regarding discrimination.
  3. An authorised group should permit any BPUG® member to take part in the group's activities if that member meets the group's membership criteria.
  4. If a group wishes to publish its events on the BPUG® website it may do so by sending the event details to BPUG®. A group logo may be included. Bookings for such events can either be handled through the BPUG® on-line system or the event details can show who the event organiser is so that they can deal with bookings direct. Be aware that the BPUG® website does not have the ability to screen bookings with respect to group membership criteria.
  5. Groups must not use the BPUG® logo without prior permission from BPUG® and then only in accordance with the usage criteria that BPUG® applies to it.
  6. BPUG® will publish on its web site a list of authorised groups, together with the email address and telephone number (if available) of the group organiser and a logo, if provided. It will also publish the group's membership criteria.
  7. It is the responsibility of the group organiser to update BPUG® regarding any changes to the group's membership criteria, logo or organiser's details.
  8. Each group must conduct its affairs in a professional manner that is in accordance with BPUG's objectives.
  9. BPUG® may cease to support or publicise a group for any reason and, if it does so, all permissions regarding the BPUG® name and logo will automatically lapse.
